Biwater Man Lee Ltd (BML) has recently been awarded its first contract in Vietnam.
The Urban Environment Company of The People’s Committee, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, has been awarded the contract to a joint venture between Biwater Man Lee and the local Vietnamese company Constrexim Holdings (a state owned contractor under the Ministry of Construction).
The contract is worth £3.8 million and comprises the construction of a 7,000 tonnes per day sequential batch reactor wastewater treatment plant. The scope of the works to be carried out by Biwater Man Lee includes the supply of equipment, installation, testing, commissioning and training.
The project is funded by the World Bank (IRDB & IDA), and Black & Veach has been appointed as the consultant engineer. The contract programme is 20 months from 1st February 2006.
