The Biwater Services Ltd group of companies consisting of Farrer Consulting Limited, Biwater Treatment Limited and BiProduct Recovery Limited has won the 2009 Manchester Evening News Business of the Year Award.
The winners were announced at a gala dinner held at Salford's Lowry Hotel on 5th November hosted by top broadcaster Jeremy Vine. This prestigious business accolade celebrates the achievements of each of the three group companies across four areas of corporate responsibility, in the workplace, marketplace, environment and communities.
The Biwater Services group of companies are water, waste and environmental engineers. Biwater Treatment has many years experience in the design and construction of water and waste water treatment works. Farrer Consulting is an asset management and engineering design specialist of 15 years experience working within the water, highways and local authority markets and BiProduct Recovery established in 2008, provides waste-to-land recycling for commercial and industrial by-products, providing alternative to landfill.
Managing Director, Mark Studholme attributed the success to the skills and commitment of the group's staff, "Biwater Services has been based in Greater Manchester for over 100 years. The company attracts talented staff from across the country and has been built on a real family ethos. We are proud to have a fantastic mix of long serving staff some of whom, including our Chairman Bernard Armstrong, have been here for over 40 years, down to a very active Graduate Recruitment Scheme to secure the future of the company. It is an outstanding achievement to be recognised, by our business peers across the region, as being ambitious and holding such promise - despite the difficult trading conditions we have all been subject to."
