Despite the distractions of the Sri Lanka’s beaches, the team on the Negombo Water Supply and Optimisation project are making good progress on the construction of a 12.5 mgd water treatment plant, water reservoir and main pipework which will bring drinking water to the local population. Currently many local residents are only able to get water from wells but this project will see additional water supplies being provided to both the local population and the tourist industry which has been rapidly

Biwater Treatment launches SafeStart

The SafeStart campaign is focussed on further raising the profile of health and safety whilst maintaining a high level of excellence and efficiency in all work and tasks undertaken. To ensure a safe working environment for all who work for Biwater Treatment there is always a rigorous focus on continuous improvement to health and safety and the implementation of best practices. SafeStart is testament to this approach by it bringing together industry best practices and a consistent approach to all work undertaken.

SafeStart introduces a SafeStart card that has to be completed before every task is undertaken, improvements to Health and Safety Policies, poster campaigns to raise awareness and a new health and safety induction DVD.
