The MOU was signed at a meeting of the Corporacion’s Board of Directors, presided over by Mr. Harold Bergen, Governor of the Department of Boquerón and President of the Corporacion. The agreement establishes a collaborative framework between Biwater, Departmental Governments and local non-governmental organisations to develop innovative solutions for providing access to clean water and undertaking development projects in the region.
The water supply initiative will focus on refurbishing and expanding infrastructure, reinforcing and incorporating sustainable practices, and advanced technologies to address the challenges of water scarcity in the Chaco region. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives of various Cooperatives in the region, the Governor of the Presidente Hayes Department, Mr. Bernardo Zárate, and Mr. Alfredo Lorenzo, Second Vice President of the Corporacion and Representative of the Native People of El Chaco.
