Adrian White met with the Peruvian President, Alan Garcia at the Government Palace on 16 June 2009. The meeting was arranged to discuss Biwater investing in the development of a desalination plant in Peru to ensure the supply, storage and distribution of potable water to the southern part of Lima by 2011.



Algeria

In consortium, Biwater has been awarded a Build, Own, Operate (BOO) contract for a sea water reverse osmosis desalination plant at Oued Sebt in Algeria. The new plant will deliver 100,000 m3/day of high quality drinking water and is one of a series of plants currently being built in partnership with the Algerian Energy Company. The 24-month contract value is US$100 million.
